We had a great trip to Augusta this week. We enjoyed visiting the State House and the Maine State Museum. Students were able to view the statue of Samantha Smith and the beautiful grounds ouside of the Capitol Building. We were given a tour of the Senate and House areas and enjoyed hearing the history of the building's construction and reconstruction. Ask your child about the "Lady of Wisdom." We wish to give a special thanks to the chaperones who accompanied us. You made our jobs a lot easier. All around it was a great day!
On June 8th, we will be traveling to Peaks-Kenny State Park in Sebec. Our rain date is June 9th. Please make sure your child is dressed for outdoor play and swimming. Don't forget the sunscreen and a towel. Parents are welcome to meet us there around 10:30 a.m.
Our Award Ceremony will be held on June 11th at 10:00 a.m. in the PCMS cafeteria. Parents are welcome to attend.
Remember to read, read, read this summer. A suggested reading list is attached to the newsletter that was sent home. Check out the local library.
Don't lose ground in math this summer. Practice those basic addition and multiplication facts. Play cards, dominoes or board games with counting. Check out some great math websites like: http//www.ixl.com/ interactive fun for many grade levels.
The fourth grade team wishes to thank students and families for a great school year. You are an outstanding group of young people and have been a pleasure to work with! We wish you the best as you enter Grade 5. We will truly miss you. Have an awesome summer!
